Christina’s advice when taping your stomach
When taping your stomach, it’s crucial to choose a tape that provides strong adhesion and support. That’s why I recommend CureTape kinesiology tape. For regular use, CureTape Classic or Art is ideal. However, if you’re engaging in extreme sports or swimming, opt for the extra sticky CureTape Sports variant!
How to tape period pain
Tips for Effective Stomach Taping:
- Make sure you understand what’s causing the pain or discomfort
- Check if there are any reasons why taping might not be a good idea.
- Before you start, read the instructions carefully.
- Choose a tape colour or print that suits your style!
- Round of all the edges to prevent peeling.
- Avoid stretching the tape at the beginning and end.
- Rub the tape firmly for better adhesion; warmth helps activate the adhesive.
- You can shower or swim with the tape on; just pat it dry gently afterward, avoiding vigorous rubbing.
- To remove the tape easily, use body or massage oil.
Preparation
Tape
Shape: 3 custom-made I-Tapes.
Number of strips: 3.
Technique: Muscle technique (liche pull) + ligament technique (maximal/full pull)
Measuring and cutting of the tape
Step 1:
- Stand in front of a mirror to apply the tape properly. Measure the length of the first tape from pelvic bone to pelvic bone.
- For the second tape, measure from the navel to the top of the pubic bone.
- Cut a third tape of approximately 15 cm long.

Step 5:
- Take the first tape, tear the release paper in half and fold the paper away on both sides.
- Apply minimal tension to the centre and place the tape horizontally between the two pelvic bones, using no stretch for the ends. Rub the tape well.
- Prepare the second tape in the same way and stick the centre with minimal tension vertically on the line between the navel and the upper edge of the pubic bone. Rub the tape well.
- The third tape is applied to the back. First find the right spot (you may need to mark the spot). To do this, place your hands on your pelvis with the fingertips pointing forward and the thumbs pointing back. The tips of the thumbs now point to where the tape should be applied.
- Sit with your back to a mirror, bend forward slightly and tear the release paper in the middle.
- Apply tension to the middle section of the tape and attach the tape. Apply the two anchors without tension and rub the tape firmly.
